چکیده

Recently, Opportunistic Networks (OppNets) are considered to be one of the most attractive developments Mobile Ad Hoc that have arisen thanks development intelligent devices. OppNets characterized by a rough and dynamic topology as well unpredictable contacts contact times. Data is forwarded stored in intermediate nodes until next opportunity occurs. Therefore, achieving high delivery ratio challenging issue. It imperative any routing protocol use network resources, far they available, order achieve higher performance. In this article, we introduce Resource-Aware Routing (ReAR) which dynamically controls buffer usage with aim balancing load resource-constrained, stateless non-social OppNets. The ReAR invokes our recently introduced mutual information-based weighting approach estimate impact size on performance ultimately regulate consumption real time. proposed proofed conceptually simulated using Network Environment simulator. Experiments show outperforms set well-known protocols such EBR, Epidemic MaxProp, energy-aware Spray Wait PRoPHET terms message overhead ratio.

A Socially Aware Routing Protocol in Mobile Opportunistic Networks

—Routing is one of the difficult issues in mobile opportunistic networks, due to the lack of global knowledge and sporadic links. Related works use a greedy strategy to forward packets, i.e., they select relays with higher/bigger quality metrics. In this paper, we study the Opportunistic Routing Protocols (ORPs) from the perspective of social network analysis. Specifically, we discuss the impa...

A social-aware routing protocol for opportunistic networks

This work proposes the Cultural Greedy Ant (CGrAnt) protocol to solve the problem of data delivery in opportunistic and intermittently connected networks referred to as Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs). CGrAnt is a hybrid Swarm Intelligence-based forwarding protocol designed to address the dynamic and complex environment of DTNs. CGrAnt is based on: (1) Cultural Algorithms (CA) and Ant Colony Opt...

Improving Performance of Opportunistic Routing Protocol using Fuzzy Logic for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks in Highways

Vehicular ad hoc networks are an emerging technology with an extensive capability in various applications including vehicles safety, traffic management and intelligent transportation systems. Considering the high mobility of vehicles and their inhomogeneous distributions, designing an efficient routing protocol seems necessary. Given the fact that a road is crowded at some sections and is not c...

LEBRP - A Lightweight and Energy Balancing Routing Protocol for Energy-Constrained Wireless Ad Hoc Networks

A wireless ad hoc network typically refers to any set of wireless networks where all devices have equal status on a network and are free to associate with any other wireless ad hoc network devices in their range. As the nature of these networks, they commonly do not have external power supplies, and each node has a limited internal power source. In this paper, we put forward a new routing proto...
